New Councillors December 2020

We welcomed  Mr Roy Snoddy, of 30 Bryn Road, Coychurch, to the Community Council at the meeting in December.

Asked to say a little about himself, he has provided this potted history:

“I am 71 years old and have lived in the village since 2009.
I was born in Greenock, Scotland and lived and worked there as a Fireman until 1977. I then moved to London, to work for the BBC as a Facilities Manager. I was made redundant in 1992 , but I was lucky enough to secure a position as Security/ Facilities manager at the Royal College of Art and Design, where I stayed until my move to South Wales in 2003. I then worked for the Welsh College of Music and Drama until my retirement in 2016.
Among my interests, are walking, quizzes, traveling [sadly suspended at the moment]. I am also a a bit of a film buff and I like to read a lot, mainly fiction.
I see my role as a councillor to be contributing anything I can to this village and the people who are fortunate enough to live here. I believe coming here was the best move I could have made this late in life and I hope my past experiences will be of some benefit to the Council.”
We are sure Roy will make a positive contribution both as a councillor and as a Councillor Trustee of the Williams Memorial Hall.
