Clerk/RFO to the Community Council and Clerk/Manager to the Trustees of the Williams Memorial Hall.
Mrs Mabyn Thomas has been employed to the position of Clerk/RFO to the Community Council and Clerk/Manager to the Trustees of the Williams Memorial Hall. She starts her new roles on Monday 18th February 2019.
Vacancy on the Community Council.
Mr. Mark Evans has resigned from the Community Council with effect from 11th February 2019. The formal process to fill the vacancy has started and information is now available on the Council Website and Notice Boards.
Review of the Electoral Arrangements of the County Borough of Bridgend.
A Review of the Electoral Arrangements of the County Borough of Bridgend was received by the Community Council. As far as Coychurch Lower is concerned the recommendations are to split the existing Brackla Ward into four smaller Wards and to merge one of these new Wards, Brackla East with Coychurch Lower which will then be called Brackla East and Coychurch Lower. The Commission is giving notice that the period of representation is from 22nd January to 15 April 2019. The Community Council has purchased six new litter bins. Three bins have been installed. One is at the end of Treoes Road by the footpath fence, one by the footpath at the junction of The Court and St Marys View and one on the path between Manor Drive and Brynffrwd Close. One will shortly be fitted at the Bryn. One is planned for the footpath between Main Road and Glenwood Close and one for the footpath by the Fords Plant on the Industrial Estate. Additionally the Community Council will shortly be receiving one post with dog bags attached as part of the new TIKSPAC scheme. This will be placed by the bin at the Bryn.
The Council has now received permission from BCBC to put Dog Fouling/Warning plastic signs/notices on lamp posts in the village. The Council will shortly be purchasing these signs. Hopefully these measures will encourage all dog owners to bin their dog’s waste.
Coychurch Gardening Competition.
The Community Council will be organizing the Coychurch Gardening Competition this year. The services of a Judge has already been obtained. Exact details still have to be confirmed. It was agreed that the matter will be put on the Agenda for further discussion at the March’s Committee Meeting.
